I would like to add a feature to the animation timeline that allows inserting and deleting empty keyframes.
With this feature, I would expect that inserting an empty keyframe shifts all subsequent keyframes forward by one frame. Conversely, deleting an empty keyframe would shift all subsequent keyframes backward by one frame to close the gap.
While the “Timing Adjustment” feature is convenient for overall timing adjustments, I believe that the ability to insert and delete keyframes on a per-frame basis would significantly improve work efficiency when making fine-tuned timing adjustments.
Additionally, it would be great if you could consider assigning shortcut keys to this feature, as it would further enhance usability.
Thank you very much for your continued support of our products.
This is the Live2D team.
We sincerely appreciate your valuable feedback.
Currently, with the existing features, you can select a range and then use drag or arrow keys to move forward or backward. Is it correct that your request is to make the operation even simpler and more intuitive?
You suggested utilizing empty keyframes. For example, would an operation like “move the frames after the currently selected frame forward by ◯ frames” meet your needs?
Due to specification constraints, inserting empty keyframes is somewhat difficult. Therefore, we aim to convey your request to our development team in the most effective way possible.
I am aware of the current feature that allows you to move the selection by dragging or using the arrow keys after making a selection, and I use it regularly.
Regarding your proposed feature to “move the frames behind the currently selected frame forward by X frames,” this differs slightly from the operation I am looking for.
With that method, inserting or deleting frames would require the same amount of effort whether it’s one frame or a hundred, which would indeed be a useful feature.
However, for making large timing adjustments, the current drag operation after selecting a range is sufficient.
What I need is not a feature for making large timing changes, but one that allows for quick, fine-tuned adjustments in single-frame increments.
There are many instances where I want to delay a specific part by just one frame or advance it by one frame. In long animations, having to make a range selection or enter values in a dialog box each time feels somewhat tedious.
Therefore, I would like an interface that allows me to insert or delete a single frame with a shortcut key or a single click, and enables intuitive, frame-by-frame adjustment by holding down the key if needed.
If implementing such a feature is difficult due to specifications, even having a feature to select all keyframes after the cursor position with a single click would significantly improve my workflow. I would also appreciate the ability to assign shortcut keys to this function.
I hope the development team will consider this request.
I have clearly understood that it is important to be able to perform quick and precise operations on a per-frame basis, and that the drag operation for range selection is used in different scenarios.
Thank you very much for your detailed explanation.
I have conveyed your valuable feedback to the development team.
We will use it as a reference for future development.
If you notice anything else, we would be grateful if you could report it in this forum.
